I’ve decided to do a photo-a-day project. This is to make me bring my camera everywhere and to keep up my motivation levels, which have quite lately been lacking. I’ll update this post every day (if I can remember to!) with the photos. If I enjoy it, I’ll try and do it for the whole of next year!
My boyfriend (who just started uni in Falmouth, he’s studying TV!) and I took a nice walk in to town and had a wonder around to find people to interview for his project
Came home for the day/night! Met up with the beautiful Fi for a lunch date and a shop.
Matt and I had a busy train ride back to Falmouth this afternoon! Luckily we found some seats and squished in for the journey. Back in time for the 80’s party tonight at uni!
Quiet day tonight! Went to the 80’s party last night at uni, it was so much fun. Now back to doing my work! I actually do quite enjoy doing sketchbook and research work for my projects. Also, how cute are these stamps?! I love using them to title my work, they make it look so fab.
Another quiet day today, met Hannah and got fresh pasties for lunch and ate them in the sunshine! We then had a lecture and went in to town to get a various things.
This evening, Matt and I went in to town to go for dinner at the Meat Counter, the best burger place in Falmouth – we are both incredibly stuffed at the moment!
Busy day today! Been at Matt’s and in the library doing work for most of today, then went with Ali to a meeting about the University’s magazine which we want to be a part of. Productive day! Here’s a dramatic picture of Ali in the street on the way back to Matt’s flat. Excuse the purple car behind him, it was the only decently lit area!
Busy day today, pitching an idea to my group and rushing to lectures and back for tutorials! Here’s a photo to symbolise how i’m feeling right now haha
Man vs nature
Today, Hannah and I visited Perranporth, which took forever to get to by bus! It was really fun with very cold winds but warm bursts of sun so we were repeatedly removing coat and scarves and putting them back on again. We saw so many dogs!!!
Very rainy day today, popping to Truro with Hannah and Ali. We all got soaked!
I promise I’ll try and shoot something more interesting tomorrow! Sleepy day, with my tutorial group purchasing things for our studio project next week, and catching up on work.
Been feeling very sniffly and snotty today, it appears I have fresher’s flu!
Still ill! Very squeaky voice.
Been working in the studio all day for our project!
Finished our set build today! Here’s a behind-the-scenes, i’ll post the final photo soon on my facebook page! (www.facebook.com/LDillonPhotography)
Completely finished taking down the set today! Been very tiring and stressful but I think I’ve come out the other side better. I’ve stayed at Matt’s as it’s closer (9am-9pm days plus travelling back to mine = even more tiring!) and here’s the view from his flat on campus, I miss it, my view was the same but from two blocks down, last year!
Today my family came down to visit me for the day! We had an amazing lunch, a walk to the beach, and a mooch round the town. This is my little sister!
Hannah and I went on a trip to Truro today with the intention of getting a glue gun and some rubber stamps #classicartstudents
Very rainy day here in Falmouth! Had long lectures and a groggy head. However, it’s Matt’s 20th birthday tomorrow!!! Here he is, appreciating the weather
Matthew has turned 20!
Very foggy morning on campus!
Today I helped out a friend who studies journalism, who wanted some photos of a local record shop/cafe for an article he’s written. Here’s one of the pictures from that!
Matt and I traveled home this afternoon, as we’re seeing Bastille tomorrow evening in Plymouth!
Spent most of today writing my critical review for my recent project! It’s finally done though, yay! Tonight Matt and I are off to Bastille and we’re sooo excited. Here’s a cute photograph of my younger cousin, whose face I just painted for a halloween party she’s going to. Don’t judge my (lack of) skills!
Sooo it’s been an interesting 24 hours. I happened to collapse due to heat exhaustion at last night’s concert – twice – and so missed most of Bastille’s performance 😦 I’m okay now though, just sad to have missed loads! MASSIVE thank you to my boyfriend Matt who, with the help of a nurse who just happened to be there when I went down, carried me out through the crowd to safety. We came back to Falmouth this evening, and the roads were so empty. Deadline tomorrow, ahh!
Handed in all of my studio project work today, woo!
The leaves are incredible colours at this time of year! This is what I see from the bus on the way in to uni each day
This evening, Ali, Hannah and I went to a pop up arts fair that’s hosted in Toast each month. I got a beautiful watercolour print, Ali got a cute postcard, and Hannah got a tiny cactus that she’s named Percy! The height difference between the two of them is astonishing.
Drizzly weather makes me happy and sad at the same time
Had a wonder around Fal today with Ali
Bonfire night! Sorry it’s late, but I’ve been out enjoying the fireworks with friends! Here’s an adorable spectator I noticed tonight
Sleepy day today
Hannah and I got chips for lunch and sat by the water eating them, it was a good day.
Verrrry rainy day today! Dark and drizzly, spent a long time in the library with Hannah.
Very drizzly day today, again! 1 month until I go home for Christmas
Surprise, surprise, another photo of the rain! This time it was light rain, I thought it was snow at first as it was so floaty!
Today my Gran and Uncle Paul came to visit me down in Falmouth! We went out for lunch and a wonder around town. Doing a late night library session with Hannah tonight, how fun!
A rather groggy day today, been hibernating in my cosy bed trying to make a start on my essay. My brain just doesn’t want to cooperate though. Tomorrow, Fi is coming to visit me, yay!
Today, Fi came to visit me! It was soo great to see her again. This is a bit of a cheat, I didn’t take this photo (Ali did) but it’s such a cute photo of us two, I just wanted it to be today’s photo.
It’s been a busy/groggy last few days trying to complete this damn essay! I’m doing it on how photographs are often seen as more authentic compared to other types of artwork, such as paintings, due to historical beliefs and concepts. Here’s my photo for yesterday, today, and possibly tomorrow, depending on how cooperative my brain decides to be. I only just got home half an hour ago, at about half past 11, from being in the library for nearly 5 hours with hannah, after a 2 hour lecture. Busy busy busy. Can’t wait until it’s done. So here’s about half of the books I’ve currently got on loan from the library, with a well deserved/needed cup of tea.
Sorry for being MIA again! Been feeling a bit under the weather. Spend all of Friday at uni, handing in that dreaded essay then preparing our exhibition for our studio project, then all of Saturday napping on the sofa with Beth while watching films. Here’s a gloomy picture of our kitchen windowsill, full of cacti and a framed Matt Damon photo
Another gloomy day today, didn’t get out of bed until about 6pm. Been feeling so rotten. Booked Matt and I tickets to go to see Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them tomorrow evening, so excited for that!
Matt and I saw Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and it was AMAZING. So amazing, in fact, that I forgot to take a photo for the 21st. So here’s a photo to cover both 21st and 22nd, one from my current project.
I love renting out lenses from the uni stores and seeing how everything i’m used to looks slightly different. Today I shot for a 3rd year acting student, and am off in to town to see Matt and shoot for my new project!
Slow day of working, shooting, and hoovering.
Another quiet day today
A quiet day of reading in bed until 4pm, then getting up for lunch and being serenaded by Sophie and Beth (who don’t like being photographed) with a ukulele.
Spend today shooting Matt for my project, greeting Hannah upon her arrival back to uni after being on a trip to New York for a week, watching christmas films with the flat, and making decorations!
Today was Ali’s 21st birthday! We went out for lunch at a cute little new place I’d never heard of, the name of which I’ve already forgotten. He especially loved the card I gave him, which reads ‘hoebag’ on the front and has a large quote from Miranda Priestly of The Devil Wears Prada in it. It was a very chilly day and I saw many dogs so it was good, in summary.
Busy day today of tutorials, shooting, and art fairs! I appreciate this snazzy dude so much and don’t say it enough so here’s a cute picture of him being all dramatic on the way to do a food shop.
Hello December, old friend. Chilly day again today, in tutorials and spending the afternoon with matt, both of us doing our work. Not much else happened! A week tomorrow I’m going home for Christmas, yay! Getting the bus home in the dark is spooky yet eerily pretty.
Didn’t take any photographs, but here’s one from Matt’s flat meal that I was invited to! Such a good night ❤
Had our flat christmas meal tonight! It was so good and yummy, here’s a photo of our handmade decorations we made
The morning after the Christmas party
Busy few days again, trying to get work finished before our deadline of January/before we go home for Christmas! Only 3 days until I can go hoooome
Wednesday 7th – spent all day in bed watching Love Actually with Matt and drinking a lot of tea! Today – very foggy day on campus, but my last time on campus this calendar year! I’m off home tomorrow for Christmas, yay!
I’M HOME FOR CHRISTMAS! Yay! Ali is staying with me this weekend so no doubt he’ll turn up on here again, haha. So glad to be home!
Also, in April I will be doing a skydive for Children’s Hospice South West – please go here to donate!
Today, I took Ali in to Tavistock to show him the town I grew up by. It was incredibly rainy and grey so he saw a pretty average day here! We then made paper chains from old books
Today, we finally put up our Christmas tree!
Sleepy Poppy doesn’t like the rainy weather
Another grey day here
Feeling festive! We’ve got fairy lights up everywhere and the woodburner is going. Matt’s back from his ski trip at the weekend, yay! Busy week or so ahead, including me turning 20! Don’t want to turn 20 at all.
I’ve just realised that even though I’d taken photographs over the last few days while at home, I hadn’t actually put them up online! Here we goooo
A very rainy day today, spent it writing my critical review for my deadline after Christmas!
Another drizzly day spent doing my blasted critical review again! I’m so so so happy with my new camera
Today Matt came back to Falmouth from his ski trip. I came down a day early to surprise him! Cold train journeys are all worth it in the end
Quiet day today of writing my critical review and coming home for Christmas with Matt! Now we’re both home
Tomorrow I turn 20! Today I went in to work as it was really busy, but so much fun! Good catch up with everyone who I haven’t seen since the summer, and off for a meal tonight with some old school friends.
